Saturday's Critters

Insomnia

By 0300 this morning my eyes were wide open..I couldn't get back to sleep, so I decided to get up..
I had the urge to do textures and edits...I grabbed a small batch of my old street photos and went to work (play)..Two cups of coffee later I came up with these .. I think I crave a day at the MFAH.. A day of downtown window shopping sounds mighty good too :-)

Personally, I don't feel uncomfortable  being alone in public..As long as I don't feel threatened..If I am doing the activities that I enjoy...

The bad type of alone comes into play when I feel uninvited..When I feel disappointment for not being included in major events involving family and friends...If I feel tossed aside by people important to me..


Athough I love watching and shooting pics of a sunrise with friends, it is also an activity that I enjoy doing alone..The quiet beauty of a sunrise energizes me for the rest of the day :-)

Self Awareness

With my first morning cup of coffee I began reading..

I read today's post by Linda "Letting your pictures do the talking" and clicked on the links she shared. 

Linda mentioned that she was intrigued by an e-mail she received from a photographer she follows,  Kim Manley Ort ..

After seeing Nathan Wirth's visual Q &A  COOPH-Nathan Wirth , Kim Manley Ort felt inspired to put together her own blog post sharing her answers to this identical series of ten questions.. This is the link to Kim's version.

These ten questions are common ones that many photographers encounter when they share their work..

What's unique about Nathan's and Kim's posts is that they answered these ten questions with images they had taken in the course of their photography work. 

Suddenly I found myself following a trail leading to my own self awareness.. 

This kind of reflection involved the pleasant task of going back in history..

For me, my best yesterday was to get out of the house and treat myself to a good time!  I did some window shopping and met up with family..We had a yummy dinner together while catching up with each other's lives :-))

This is what I intend to do for a couple of weeks sometime in the coming months..A vacation to a peaceful pretty place, away from home, sounds like my idea of heaven :-)))

A piece of work or a plan left abandoned can make me feel shame..

I become depressed and stagnant when I don't feel like I live up to my own ideals, or other's ideals... Who I should be... What I should accomplish...What I should look like..

My life goes into a downward spiral..Too many must do's and should do's at one time will do that to me, lol

Today, I found some inspiration and encouragement...

From other bloggers who shared what they do or don't do when their lives are more sour than sweet..

It is so much easier to hang in there when we have company :-)

Memories

I was going thru old photos because I couldn't sleep last night..I shot these scenes while on an outing with a new friend..We enjoyed this winter sunset, in Galveston TX, two years ago..
Time flies..
I hope to travel a little bit further this year, lol..I have high hopes of going to Colorado, Washington and maybe California this Fall..
Some people who are very dear to me call these places home :-)
