Birds on a wire

My sister found and shared a beautiful and amazing song, composition based on the positioning of birds on a wire seen in a photograph..Seeing and listening to that work of art inspired me to combine textures to my own birds on a wire photograph :-)

Memories

My Oscar has been on crate rest for the last several days due to a flare up of his back issues..
Two or three of those days I hung out with him and Simon the entire day without leaving the house, even momentarily..
Yesterday was one of them..
I decided to spend some of this time productively, lol..
I was organizing some important documents of mine and got the bright idea of saving a few of them to a thumb drive.... When I loaded my thumb drive to my computer and opened it, I found a treasure trove of old photos....
This is one of them...
I shot these images during a hike at Brazos Bend State Park..A beautiful and quiet place to hike, birdwatch, camp..

Easter Sunrise and Fog

For Easter Morning I had plans to go watch and photograph the sunrise somewhere..I thought about it, but I forgot to set my alarm to wake me up early enough to drive to Galveston..I woke up early, on my own, but not in time to reach Galveston before sunrise... I barely had time to drive to Sylvan Beach..
I drove thru very thick fog.. When I reached Sylvan beach I realized that I had passed thru most of the fog and had beaten it by a few moments..I had a few minutes to photograph the sunrise before the fog caught up with me and became too thick to see anything..
It was a beautiful Easter sunrise and a pretty day :-)

A Spring Nature Hike

A beautiful day for a nature hike with a friend! It was so pretty and also cool outside..Didn't have to worry about finding shade, and didn't have to run or hide from any mosquito's...
We saw lots of bug life, plant life, birds :-)
In the afternoon, Armand Bayou was the turtle watering hole..Turtles floating lazily, turtles munching leaves...

Brazos Bend Park 2014

It has definitely been a long long time since I last visited here..A lot has been going on..Spring is beginning to show its soft colors..I had an amazing afternoon at Brazos Bend State Park with Geff a photography friend..While there I saw an alligator in one of the lakes..He would not show himself..But oh boy, there was a massive evacuation of birdlife who was swimming in the same lake as the alligator..These birds exited the lake single file and went hiding in the grasses on the other side of the walkway..

A fun winter trip

I drove to Tennessee to visit my mom..This was the first trip I drove there without having passengers with me

to keep me company..I had a great visit with her..I was able to shoot a lot of pictures without going very far..Within footsteps of my mom's house is a lot of pretty scenery..I met this neighborhood doggie gang for the first time :-)
Somewhere in the middle of my two weeks with Mom, we had a thunder snow storm..On the day that the snowstorm took place, I thought it was chilly but not cold..The temps must have dropped very fast, lol :-)

 

The Birds and the Bees

I am fortunate that my backyard is a pretty place to spend patio time while indulging in my photography passion! There is a bird family residing in the birdhouse attached to my fence.. Every morning when the weather is good, I watch these birds go about their business taking care of their family.. The bottle brush bush next to the birdhouse is an awesome haven to bees and humming birds..I find intriguing wild flowers to photograph..

These photos are of the random treasures I have discovered during my patio time :-)

Some more play in Photo Shop

After a fun afternoon shooting with my friend, I played in PhotoShop to stitch these panoramas together.. I shot these images from a park which is across the street from where I used to work..My friend led me to the trail from which these were shot. Such a glorious Valentine's Day sunset :-)
